Day 343/365. Bourbon County, KY.  This out building presumably used to be lodging for slaves, and perhaps later servants.  Whenever I see it I always wonder about the people who lived there. I imagine them going to the main house to work, and then back again to sleep and hopefully relax a little in their own space.  It is inhabitable now, and used for storage, but when you look inside you can see remnants of a small fireplace, and spaces to cook and sleep.

My friends who own the property live in the main house and have worked for years to restore it to to its former glory–their ongoing project is a real labor of love.

  1. That is really neat that your friends own the property. I love history and historic places and always wonder about the people who lived in those places– their homes to them but to use=, merely historic buildings.
